Key responsibilities of the Department include:

• announcing vacancies, recruiting staff, granting tenure, managing grading and salary increase budget, granting leaves of absence, allowances and certificates, managing resignation and retirement processes and, in general, dealing with the service status of members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Personnel, the Special Technical Laboratory Personnel, Tutors, Teaching Assistants, Research Fellows, foreign instructors, the specialized doctors of the Laboratory of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Aristotle University,
• granting leaves of absence (sick leaves, leaves for personal reasons) to primary and secondary school teachers on secondment to the Aristotle University, and
• issuing relevant orders.
