Key responsibilities of the Department include:

• implementing the network policy adopted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,
• managing the network and communications, as well as recording and monitoring the equipment,
• implementing the strategy mapped out by the administration of the Aristotle University,
• coordinating the diverse computer needs, with regards to the organization and updating of the educational, research and administrative computer systems of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki supervised and directed by the Communication Networks and Informatics Steering Committee.

The Department of Secretary of Networks and Communications Committee  includes the Computer Network and Communication Service.
