Founded in 1991, pursuant to the Presidential Decree 200/91 (Government Gazette No. 78/30-5-91), the School of Informatics first opened its doors in autumn 1992 and was granted autonomous status in 1995.
It is administered by the General Assembly (GA) which consists of the Faculty members of the School, representatives of the Special Teaching Personnel and Technical Personnel, and a number of student representatives equal to 50% of the number of faculty members. The School is not divided into departments; thus, the General Assembly performs all the duties usually assigned to departments.
