The responsibilities of the Department of International Relations include:
 

• Developing and maintaining good relations between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the international academic community, with the aim to promote the Aristotle University abroad as one of the most innovative universities in the world.
   
• Monitoring and keeping up with international advances in fields related to the activities of the university, and developing and implementing initiatives.
   
• Drafting, editing, promoting, coordinating and administering agreements on scientific cooperation between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and foreign academic institutions, with the aim to transfer knowledge and share experiences for the benefit of faculty members and students.
   
• Developing and implementing annual work plans, monitoring the exchange of faculty members and students between the Aristotle University and foreign academic institutions.
   
• Informing the academic community on general international matters, monitoring and ensuring that the university carries out its responsibilities as a member of international organizations.
   
• Participating in international events, organizing international meetings, hosting representatives of partner universities.
   
• Maintaining correspondence with foreign partners, and publishing brochures regarding the activities of the Department.
