Key responsibilities of the Department include:

• implementing the programme with regards to building new facilities and carrying out various projects,
• announcing and holding tenders to assign projects to contractors and drafting the relevant contracts,
• supervising the projects carried out, accepting projects, and managing all tasks and activities related to the implementation of current legislation on projects,
• submitting reports, questions and proposals to the Technical Council and the Supervising Authority with regards to issues which fall within its competence, and
• ensuring the implementation of the decisions taken.
