Founded in 1984, pursuant to the presidential decree 169/84, the Faculty of Fine Arts was initially divided into the School of Visual and Applied Arts, and the School of Music Studies. Two new schools were later incorporated in the Faculty of Fine Arts: the School of Drama, founded in 1992-93, and the School of Film Studies, founded in 2004-05.
