The Confucius Institute of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Chinese in Greece and Beyond (ICCG+) “Researching on Chinese Language Teaching and Communication across Boundaries: Challenges, Practices and Narratives”. ICCG+ is the first International conference on the Chinese language held by a Greek University with the aim of highlighting issues related to the teaching of the Chinese language and communication through the Chinese language in Greece and beyond.

ICCG+ is addressed to researchers, teachers of the Chinese language and students of the Chinese language from Greece and abroad and it is the first attempt to highlight research around the Chinese language on Greek University level, connecting research and teaching the Chinese language in Greece with the rest of the world.

The 34 speakers (5 of whom will participate online), apart from Greece, come from many countries such as the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Albania and New Zealand. During the conference, topics such as recent research on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, translation as a means of language learning and intercultural communication will be discussed, and experiences of teachers and students at CIs and other centres in Greece and abroad will be highlighted.
